The Coke Commercial -- here and gone...

As many of you know, the Chico Bavarian Band participated in the filming of a Coke commercial last February. The theme was a parade, and the actual filming took place in and around Gustine, CA. The CBB marched up and down the same streets -- and played the same song -- over and over, and over, and...

Anyway, we were told at the time that it might air during the Superbowl, or possibly during the Olympics. Neither of those turned out to be the case.

But after a long wait, the commercial started to be shown in several markets early this month.

And then -- just as quickly -- it vanished...

After only a few reports of the commercial being played in New Mexico, and several band members having seen the commercial during prime time here in the SF Bay Area, it appears that Coke has stopped playing the commercial altogether.

Further proof that the ad is dead lies in the fact that the online version of the ad -- which had been available on their Audio/Video Center web page -- is no longer available for download.

For those that missed it, you didn't miss much. The CBB was only in the ad for a second or two (you had to look closely or you missed us!). Still, it was fun to be part of something running on national television... even if only for a few days.

All in all, it looks like there is little chance of the CBB attaining national aclaim from this little endeavor. It's a shame, really: they have no idea what they're missing (or do they?).
